Many of these pools were built alongside the homes — meaning the pool plumbing is the same age as the house plumbing. A 25-year-old pool in First Colony has 25-year-old PVC plumbing buried in shifting soil, 25-year-old shell material that's been through thousands of wet-dry cycles, and equipment pads that have settled and pulled plumbing connections.
